There are many different types of horse saddles. Saddles are chosen depending on the horse, type of riding the individual is going to be doing and the rider.

Western Saddle - This is a general all purpose saddle. It is used for teaching the horse and rider. It helps the rider to get the right leg position on their horse whether they are riding for pleasure or in equitation class.

Side Saddle - The flat seat and pommels practically nearly allows the rider to sit sideways. Seating involves the rider sitting forward with right leg over the head, while the left leg sits in a normal position with a stirrup.

Dressage Saddles - Deep seats with straightly cut flaps. Rider sits deeply in the saddle and are closer to the horse.  This allows precision when cueing the horse.

English Saddles- All purpose saddle. This is the saddle of choice for riders who want to show on the flat as well as in classes like hunter hack.
